Working to put things right for you

So what is mediation?
Mediation is a private process where a neutral third person called a mediator helps the parties discuss and try to resolve the dispute. The mediator does not have the power to make a decision for the parties, but can help the parties find a resolution that is mutually acceptable

So why should I go to mediation?

In 1996 mediation was pioneered by The Central London County Court, since then more and more complex and convoluted cases that would often take months if not years in court, have been referred to mediation by the courts. These cases often cost the parties in dispute a great deal of money and the courts a lot of valuable court time, often with outcomes that did not satisfy all parties in.

What is the difference between Court and mediation?

When you go to court to settle a dispute you are asking a judge to make a decision on what is often a complex case with lots of issues, some of which may not be simple to resolve. quite often the best a judge can do is: order one party not to do something, or to do something and pay money to the other side. This  may not give you the satisfaction you want which often maybe for the other side to acknowledge what they did to affect the situation as you saw it, and for you to see theirs and allow you both to resolve the matter is a safe secure environment.
